Passivhaus Institute Low Energy Building
This new build open plan 5 bed detached house in Derbyshire has achieved the Passivhaus Institute Low Energy Building. Eco Design Consultants have provided PHPP analysis resulting in design advice on shape, glazing balance and product selection. The south facing slope of the roof is filled with photovoltaic panels, which have assist the project to meet the Passivhaus Institute Low Energy Building standard.
The original design concept resulted in a risk of overheating. We analysed the issue using various shading features and mechanical ventilation settings, to develop the most cost effective solution. For this home, the solution was to reduce window sizes, have large overhanging eaves and Brise Soleil. More detail can be found on the clients Blog page here…
