This 68 unit Passivhaus scheme in Halstead is at feasibility stage. The masterplan has been designed around the sloping site: with each generously sized house enjoying a large plot, good solar orientation and plenty of green public space. The lower part of the site has been designated as a nature / leisure area, as a focus for the development and for the enjoyment of the local comunity.
Mount Hill Road is a busy and important road in to Halstead, providing the first impression of the town. We have proposed a tree lined boulevard, whilst setting the house frontages back to provide privacy and a buffer from the road. Apartments are located at the site entrance forming a gateway into the development. The building frontage along the main road provides an acoustic and pollution barrier to the gardens and housing behind. Triple glazed windows and ventilation systems provide an acoustic barrier to the inside of the houses.
