Alan BuddenAlan Budden

Director / Architect

Alan a chartered Architect and Code for Sustainable Homes Assessor, splits his time between his two passions, Architecture and sustainability.  His background has included work in architectural practice, teaching Architecture at the University of Moratuwa in Sri Lanka under the auspice of VSO, and as a director of a company specialising in the design and procurement of light gauge steel framing, including structural bathroom pods.

In his previous role as an Associate for PRP Architects he led a small team providing sustainability and renewable energy strategies and reports, with guidance on Passive design, energy efficiency, renewable energy, water conservation, and future proofing.  In his role as an Architect he has led on many innovative projects including: the Sigma Home the countries first 5 Star house under the code for Sustainable homes and a CSH 5 star sustainable homes showcase. He also lead the team to design the 5 star, Greenhart Grove, in Huntingdon with low embodied energy through its use of a contemporary straw bale system.   For more read Alan’s CV

Hetal Shah

 

Energy Consultant / Architectural Designer

Hetal is an Architect with an MSc in Renewable Energy and Architecture from the University of Nottingham. Hetal has many years of experience working in the built environment,  much of which in the sustainability industry.  She is also an international LEED Assessor and specialises in Energy strategies for planning submissions and Part L compliance, SAP and EPC for Housing.

She worked as an Energy Consultant with the Environmental Services team at PRP architects advising project architects and clients on passive design, energy efficiency, renewable energy, sustainability and part L compliance.   Her work has included development of energy strategies for planning submission of various housing projects including a Code for Sustainable Homes Level 5* exemplar housing scheme at Greenhart Grove off Mayfield Road, Huntingdon and major involvement on architectural side from bid level to planning.

As an Architect her experience ranges across a wide spectrum of projects from conceptual and detailed design of high end residential interiors to large scale multiplex, towers in Mumbai-India and housing in UK.

 

 

Elaine Cowley

 

Office Manager

Elaine joins the team as our Office Manager.  She provides  general day to day administrative support to the team.  She brings experience of facilities co-ordination, is qualified to NEBOSH level in health and safety, a qualified first aider and good all round IT skills.  Elaine has worked on new build and refurbishment projects providing project support for the past 3 years and is proud to be part of a team contributing to a new build achieving a BREEAM excellence rating of 75%.  Elaine has an interest in sustainability and has contributed to setting up recycling schemes at various places of work and she is keen to learn more working for Eco Design Consultants.
