Barn extension, Stony Stratford

We were asked what we could do to this Grade 1 listed Barn in the back garden of our client,
the barn was built originally as a kitchen, and had laid derelict for many years. We provided
suggestions including this modern extension, sensitively separated from the existing building
with a glazed strip. The proposals included rainwater collection, photo voltaics and solar thermal
panels to make the building truly self contained. The original barn would be sensitively restored
and insulated to provide a living area using natural breathable materials.
