Passivhaus

Eco Design Consultants were commissioned by the Parks Trust to design an eco-friendly home on the edge of Howe Park Wood that would do justice to the location and the aspirations of the Trust whilst generating an income to support their work. The result Milton Keynes’ first Passivhaus which has been rented void free since completion.

Achieving 0.07 air changes per hour means that Howe Park Passivhaus is still probably the most airtight home in the UK; the result a comfortable draft free home.

The house has many sustainability features including a first-floor utility room to dry clothes using the MVHR eliminating the need for a dryer. Natural materials used where possible including Kebony timber cladding externally and natural paints.

The project eco credentials have been recognised with a Green Apple Award.
