Job Summary
Eco Design Consultants is seeking a Part 1 Architectural Assistant to join our Milton Keynes studio. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate seeking to develop a career in sustainable architecture, low-energy design and Passivhaus.
About Eco Design Consultants
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and develop architectural drawings, 3D models and visualisations
- Assist with design development across RIBA Plan of Work stages 1–5
- Support the preparation of planning applications and technical documentation
- Contribute to sustainable design strategies and environmental analysis (including PHPP exposure)
- Attend design team meetings, site visits and project reviews
- Coordinate information with consultants and project teams
- Maintain accurate project records and support quality assurance processes
Required Skills and Experiences
Essential
- RIBA Part 1 Architectural Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
- Strong interest in sustainable architecture / low-energy building design
- Ability to produce high-quality CAD drawings and visual material
- Understanding of UK Building Regulations and construction methods (graduate level)
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Collaborative, proactive and detail-oriented approach
Desirable
- Experience with ArchiCAD, AutoCAD, SketchUp or BIM software
- Knowledge of Passivhaus, PHPP or environmental modelling tools
- Experience (academic or placement) across RIBA Stages 3–6
- Model-making skills (digital)
