We’ve been featured on the Passivhaus Trust website
We’re delighted to see our Parklands project has been featured in the latest Passivhaus Trust newsletter and on their website. This recognition is testament to the hard work and dedication of the team. We’re so proud to see our project showcased by the Trust.
The Parklands project is a phased, self-build retrofit with the ambitious goal of achieving EnerPHit Plus certification. For those unfamiliar, EnerPHit is the Passivhaus standard for retrofitting existing buildings. EnerPHit Plus representing an even higher level of energy efficiency and sustainability. Achieving this certification is no small feat, particularly in a retrofit, but it’s a challenge we’ve embraced with enthusiasm.
Phased Retrofit
One of the most exciting aspects of the Parklands project is the phased approach we’ve taken. Retrofitting a home while it’s still being lived in can be complex, but by breaking the project into manageable phases. This minimize disruption while still living there, steadily moving towards our sustainability goals. The phased nature also allowed for careful consideration of each step. Ensuring that every decision contributes to the overall performance and comfort of our home.
Key elements of the retrofit include a small extension, which has been designed to blend seamlessly with the existing structure to imporve form factor. We’ve also reconfigured the layout to imporve functionality of space, and added a new bay window in the living room.
